Michelle Sardella
Major news outlets are reporting that China is forcing its heaviest consumers of electricity-factories-to shut down during peak hours this summer so that energy can be rerouted to Beijing. The county's capital is scrambling for additional energy resources with high residential use of air conditioning during the summer months.
At least 75 factories, all located in the cities surrounding Beijing, have been order to comply with the governments electricity rationing plan.
